Arsenal is not going to just sit and watch while Chelsea is getting stronger and stronger for the next season. Actually, the gunners are the only team that are trying to keep the peace with the "blues", since Manchester is more about selling players than buying them lately. And, while Chelsea has taken Michael Ballack and Andryi Shavchenko just before the World Cup - otherwise, their prices would have certainly taken unbelievable proportions - Arsenal bought Tomas Rosiky.
Well, it's time for the "gunners"
to try and transfer another great footballer. And this time, we're talking about a French guy. Well, that's a little bit obvious, since Arsenal has always been the club where the French footballers managed some really great performances. It is the case of Henry, Vieira, Coach Arsene Wenger and others.
Well, the new name of Arsenal's transfer list is none other than Olympique Marseille Frank Ribery. And the "gunners" are offering approximately 15 million euros for his move to England. And the French side might just take it, since the Marseille is not playing in the Champions League this year and there are no major competitions in the near future during which Ribery's value could rise.
And it may very well be a great transaction for the Marseille owners, since the French midfielder has been transferred to France with no money. It was one of the most stupid managerial moves from Turkish side Galatasaray, who forgot that Ribery's contract was coming to an end. After failing to re-sign the player, Ribery went back home, to play for Marseille.
He is very likely to take Robert Pires' place in the Arsenal squad, since the Frenchman already signed a contract with Villareal for the next season. More, the gunners should keep an eye on Ashley Cole too, since Real Madrid is searching for a Roberto Carlos substitute.
