Arrest Warrant Issued for Lindsay Lohan

She said over the weekend, shortly after word of her having failed two, court-mandated drug tests, that she was ready to face the consequences of her actions. She may do just that: an arrest warrant was issued for Lindsay Lohan.

As part of her probation following a reduced jail and rehab stint, Lindsay was to check in regularly with a probation officer and to submit herself to random drug tests, which she should have passed with flying colors.

For a few weeks, the star stayed true to her initial promise of bringing her life back on the right track – until this weekend, when word got out that she’d failed two such tests, one for cocaine and the other presumably for amphetamines.

As we also noted on a previous occasion, because of this, Lindsay stands good chances of having her parole revoked and even of being sent back to prison for 30 days.

Right now, the judge in charge has issued a bench arrest warrant in her name, asking her to be in court in person this Friday to determine her fate, People magazine reports.

“Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Elden Fox issued a bench warrant for the actress Monday, requiring her to show in person for the court hearing or face arrest. This is the fourth bench warrant issued in her DUI probation case,” the mag says.

“Fox previously warned Lohan that every dirty test for drugs and alcohol would be met with a 30-day jail sentence. Lohan has admitted to failing one test, and reportedly failed at least two, one for cocaine, the other for amphetamines,” the report further says.

Given how Judge Fox handled Lindsay’s case before (which prompted the star’s mother, Dina, to say she was looking to make an example out of her), chances of Lindsay going back to jail are high, reports in the media say.

It is not known whether Lohan’s public admission of guilt will have any effect on the Judge, as surprising as it was to hear her make it in the first place.

“Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result,” Lindsay tweeted shortly the media caught wind of her failed drug tests.

“Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn’t go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future,” she further said.

“This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I’m prepared to face the consequences,” Lohan added.
