Arnold Schwarzenegger’s post-Governor of California acting career has mostly been so-and-so: despite massive interest online in his future projects, few of his movies managed to make an impression with the fans and at the box office, and even fewer with the critics.

Come to think of it, his role in the “Expendables” franchise was the best received, and that’s only because he was part of an ensemble movie, one that brought together the biggest action stars of the ‘90s.

Apparently, Arnie isn’t only doing action movies these days: embedded below is the first trailer for a smaller-budget production called “Maggie,” which is actually a zombie movie. However, from the preview, it looks like this is a zombie movie in the way that “28 Days Later” was one, in the sense that the focus is on the human element and not on the gory details of the outbreak.

Schwarzenegger plays the father of a teenage girl named Maggie (Abigal Breslin), who runs away from home but is reunited with her father once she’s put in quarantine after becoming infected with a virus that turns humans into cannibalistic zombies.

Despite being told by authorities to have her quarantined, the father takes her home and promises to take care and protect her no matter what.

“Maggie” is directed by Henry Hobson off a script by John Scott and will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in April and on Video On Demand on May 8.
