Electronic Arts and Visceral Games have confirmed a release date for their upcoming Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel shooter, as well as a special Overkill Edition that will be offered as a free upgrade to anyone who pre-orders the game.

The Army of Two series, while not reaching any sort of critical acclaim, did impress quite a few gamers with its distinct emphasis on two-player cooperative action.

Currently, Visceral Games is working on a new installment in the series, called Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel, which already received some gameplay videos and a few more details.

Now, Visceral and EA have confirmed that the game will be released at the end of March on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

What’s more, those who pre-order the game will see their copy upgraded to the Overkill Edition, which comes with three bonus missions, extra gear, as well as themed outfits and masks.

Check out the full list of features included in the Overkill Edition below, via an official statement.

- Early Access to Three “Overkillers” Contracts: Unleash massive destruction with three Contract variations designed for maximum rampage! Players must kill enemies and cause environment destruction to earn enough points to continuously stay in Overkill while making their way to the extraction point.

- Tactical Co-op Gear: Lay down sustained cover fire with the TAH-9 side arm while decked out in the polymer textured outfit and mask or wield the Double D automatic shotgun while battling in the intimidating Overkill mask and outfit.

- Celebrate the Day of the Dead: Bust out the Day of the Dead themed assault rifle and take on Mexico’s most ruthless drug lords in Day of the Dead themed outfit and masks designed by popular tattoo artists.

Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel is out on March 26, in North America, and March 29, in Europe. Until then, you can check out a few new screenshots from the game below.
