Cloud security company Armor 5 has launched Armor5 CloudEdit. CloudEdit is a service that allows organizations to ensure that they can securely use any device to edit Microsoft Office documents stored in the cloud or on-premise.

The bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend poses numerous security risks to organizations. Armor5 CloudEdit enables employees that use their own devices to view and edit documents without having to worry that information might become compromised.

Users can sign on to the service through their company’s existing Virtual Private Network via a secure URL from any device.

The solution works on any device and it doesn’t require any installs or configuration.

“We are finally liberating the mobile workforce from IT's mandate to use corporate-owned or managed devices to get work done,” noted Suresh Balasubramanian, CEO of Armor5. “For the first time, mobile and remote users can securely create and consume enterprise content and data on their personal device of choice.”

Armor5 CloudEdit is available as part of the Armor5 service. A free trial can be requested on the company’s website.
