The development team at Bohemia Interactive promises all those who have bought or are planning to get their Arma 3 military shooter that for the coming two-year period they will get access to a variety of new content for the title.

The studio has plans to deliver vehicles to explore the landscape in, interesting mission types, new weapons that are modelled on their real-world counterparts and multiplayer modes with unique rules.

Joris-Jan van t' Land, the project leader, is quoted by Eurogamer as explaining that Bohemia Interactive will be centered on infantry warfare and the way the various other branches of the military support the footmen.

Apparently, another type of land to explore is also being planned, which will be separated from the current Altis and Stratis experience.

Marek Spanel, a leader at Bohemia Interactive, states, “The more game you give people the more game they give back to you.”

For all future Arma 3 content, the team will make sure that gamers with different versions of the title will be able to play together.

The team explains that, “We didn't want to split the community. We want everyone to play together whether they have this premium stuff or not, and that is a tricky design proposition to do, but we think we've come up with something.”

The studio also has long-term plans for the Valve-created Steam Workshop, which can be used to create mods that exploit the unique mechanics of Arma 3.

It seems that one of the aims of Bohemia Interactive is to allow its most hardcore fans to create new experiences using the core mechanics that might become as successful as DayZ.

The title started out as a simple mod and then, Dean Hall was hired by Bohemia Interactive and launched an Early Access version of the full game that managed to become one of the most successful titles on the Steam service.

Since then, Dean Hall has left in order to start a new company that aims to create the ultimate multiplayer game experience and the company is continuing the development process.

The Make Arma Not War competition from the developer aims to find new and interesting ideas and turn them into full-fledged experiences.

Bohemia Interactive has announced that it will not launch Xbox One and PlayStation 4 ports for Arma 3, because the game is too complex for next-gen consoles.
