XSEED, an independent publisher, has just released its first mobile game for Android devices, Ark of Ages.

According to developers, the Android version has been recently published on Google Play, but iOS users have been left out from the initial launch of the game. Still, XSEED claims an iOS version of Ark of Ages will be launched in the coming weeks.

Ark of the Ages is an action RPG developed by Japanese studio Meteorise. The game is set in an immersive fantasy world and allows players to take the role of a young knight of the Royal Order who has been dispatched to a village in order to investigate some unusual incidents.

It offers players rich 3D console-style graphics and the ultimate RPG experience to fans of the genre, devs claim.

The game includes 24 unique dungeons that can be explored, immersive first-person battle system.

Apparently, the offensive combat is executed through a series of swipes across the screen that mimics blade slashes. In addition, all attacks can be directly blocked through properly timed use of the characters' shield.

There is a wide range of loot available in the game that will allow players to personalize their character. Lots of items, weapons and equipment can be found during players' adventures.

Last but not least, Ark of the Ages includes a social aspect, as players will be able to take advantage of the GREE community platform.

Ark of the Ages is now available for download for $1.99/€1.49 via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.3.3 and up. Check it out here.

“We are thrilled to be releasing our first mobile title in Ark of the Ages. Mobile games represent a new segment for XSEED Games and are something we are very excited to pursue in 2013. With so many great devices on the market, mobile gaming is becoming more and more appealing to hardcore and casual gamers alike and we are looking forward to bringing fun and innovative new titles to our fans,” said Shinichi Suzuki, president and CEO of XSEED Games.
