If they choose the life sentence, the judge will decided on allowing parole in 25 years

The final stage of the trial of convicted murderer Jodi Arias has reached the deliberation stage, as the jury is deciding on whether or not to award Arias the death penalty.

According to the AP, the jury announced yesterday that they had come to a deadlock, after deliberating for two hours and a half.

The decision process continues today as Judge Sherry Stephens instructs the members of the jury to take their time.

If they are unable to reach an agreement, a second jury will be selected. If the procedure fails to yield a verdict once more, the death penalty is off the table and the judge decides on how the life sentence will be carried out.

If the jury decides to drop the death sentence, the judge has the option of giving Arias the possibility of parole in 25 years.

As I wrote yesterday, Arias has pleaded for leniency, also mentioning that she would donate her hair for wigs for cancer patients.
