Ariana Grande draws the line with everything when it comes to her older brother, Frankie Grande, whom Big Brother fans might remember from the latest season of the show as the openly gay entrepreneur who would repeatedly boast of how he made more money than everybody else in the House – put together, no less.

Frankie may have his flaws (who doesn’t?), but when it comes to Ariana, he’s her everything. When he came out to her, she even questioned her faith in the Catholic religion and eventually turned to Kabbalah because she didn’t appreciate Catholicism’s stance on homosexuality.

“OK, that’s not cool”

Ariana is promoting her most recent album and she’s been traveling the world for press interviews and live performances. In a new interview cited by the Daily Mail, she also explains her decision to convert to the celebrity-favorite Kabbalah and turn her back to Catholicism.

Frankie’s being gay had everything to do with it.

“When my brother was told that God didn't love him I was like, ‘OK, that's not cool.’ They were building a Kabbalah center in Florida so we both checked it out and really had a connection with it,” the pop star says.

“Since then, my life has unfolded in a really beautiful way, and I think that it has a lot to do with the tools I've learned through Kabbalah, I really do. You have to watch your intentions, make sure you're not giving in to your ego. You have to numb your reactive state. You have the power to change your reality,” the singer continues.

Ariana has spoken against the Catholic Church before

This isn’t the first time that Ariana stands up against the Catholic Church. Last year, for instance, she said she was deeply upset when the Pope told her that “everything [she] loved and believed in was wrong.” She wasn’t speaking about Frankie then.

Pressed for details, Ariana explained: she didn’t like being told that Spongebob Squarepants was gay and would burn in hell for it, or that Harry Potter was a sin, or that women shouldn’t work but become housewives slash slaves for their husband.

So she just turned to something else to believe in and just happened to stumble upon Kabbalah, whose teachings resonated with her.

The religion has countless celebrity believers, with the biggest probably being Madonna, Ashton Kutcher, and Demi Moore. Britney Spears also had a brief “fling” with it back in the day when she and Madonna were close friends, but she eventually ditched it.

The irony of it all

Ariana says that one of the things she’s learned since she turned to Kabbalah is “to watch your intentions, make sure you're not giving in to your ego,” which is very ironic considering she’s said to be an even bigger diva than Mariah Carey. And Mariah is the ultimate diva: she’s such a diva that she’s even proud to call herself one, even if there are several negative aspects to the term too.

Since before the album came out, Ariana has been plagued by reports that, at her young age (she’s only 21), she seems to be going out of her way to infuriate and alienate people she should be working closely with. She’s also making stupid demands, like that of not being photographed but from the left side of her face, and having the right to veto all photos, and not answer questions she doesn’t like.

Her life coach reportedly quit because of her diva behavior, which has become unbearable in a professional situation.

So either she is not really learning anything from Kabbalah at all, or everybody else is lying about her. Which one do you think it is?
