Ariana Grande reveals that her project with Justin Bieber has been abandoned due to busy schedules on both sides

Back in May, Ariana Grande fans got a big surprise when the singer appeared next to Justin Bieber in a studio, the photograph later landing online. This immediately drew speculations that the two were working on a duet. Ever since then, the duet hasn't been released and the latest reports indicate that it's not going to either.

After getting over the recent tragic death of her grandfather, Ariana has opened up about the fate of that project and the news is not good. It seems that the collaboration song has remained unfinished for some time now and it has been declared dead in the water because the artists can't meet up in the studio due to their busy schedules. Entertainmentwise quotes Ariana, “We were working on it. We were in the studio together... we were going to do it, but then we both got busy.” This acts as confirmation that the project has been discontinued and that fans shouldn't keep waiting for it to reach the charts.

However, Ariana would like to keep hope alive, “I had to focus on my stuff and he was focusing on his, and it just sort of didn't really get done. We feel like we owe it to our fans to do something one day. We will finish it and put it out one day, but it just wasn't the right time.”

Sadly for Ariana, the Bieber collaboration isn't the only project she has had to drop out of. Some of her more loyal fans might remember that also earlier this year she teased another duet, this time with Chris Brown, which was going to be called “Don't Be Gone Too Long.”

It's not hard to imagine why that song has never got made, since Brown was in and out of prison for the first part of the year, and only recently has he been released. Ever since then, he seems to have lost his appetite for music and has been partying non-stop.

Not that that's a problem for Ariana. This summer has seen her peak in the charts with her hit single “Problem,” which also features Iggy Azalea. About the song she said that it intimidated her at first but after a long break from hearing it, she fell in love with the saxophone-led track.

It's a good thing that happened because she had to perform “Problem” many times in the past months and every time she gave very good performances that have certainly improved people's opinion about her.
