The pint-sized star is now in London, where she’s promoting her most recent studio album, and she debuted her new look there. A photo snapped by the paparazzi as she went about town is also attached to this article.
Ariana’s hair is a favorite topic of conversation with fans
Ariana shot to international fame on Nickelodeon’s “Sam & Cat,” and for a very long time, her fans would not make the difference between her and her onscreen character. This explains why, at one point, she was actually criticized for not changing her hair color or styling more often.
To speak the truth, she wasn’t exactly criticized: she was viciously attacked online, trolled to the extreme. Things got so bad that she actually had to pen a lengthy explanation on how the years she’d spent shooting the show had damaged her hair in such a way that she was forced to wear a lot of weaves.
That also meant that she couldn’t style it in any other way than the aforementioned ponytail, which became synonymous with Ariana. Whether she was on the red carpet, or shooting a music video or out with friends, Ariana would always wear her hair in the same way.
So now that she’s switching things up a bit, she’s naturally making headlines. Ariana stepped out in the British capital in an all-black outfit matched with her trademark sky-high heels, and a face full of makeup, but she had done her hair differently.
The fans seem to love it, as also does the media. The new ‘do could also be confirmation that whatever hair issues she had from years of bleaching have finally been solved.
Ariana, the “new Mariah Carey”
Ariana Grande is young and tiny, but she’s hiding a very powerful voice in that petite body. No wonder people are comparing her to Mariah Carey, one of the most talented singers of our times. Of course, Ariana is just getting started and she’s looking at a very long journey ahead of her until she’s even close to having Mariah’s career, but she seems in it for the long run.
Another thing she and Mariah have in common, according to countless reports, is one bad case of diva attitude, or diva’tude, as it’s been called in the blogosphere.
While in Australia to promote the same album, she issued lists of do’s and don’ts for members of the press, most of which were met with ridicule because they contained instructions about how they weren’t supposed to photograph her from any other angle than the left side of her face, or how they must allow her to veto every single photo they took.
They were also barred from asking her about Justin Bieber or rumored boyfriend Big Sean, and from comparing her to Mariah. The backlash against Ariana when this got out in the press was huge, and she barely recovered from it.
However, it’s been weeks now that we haven’t heard any more diva reports about her, which is good. So that leaves us with just her new ‘do to focus on: so tell us, do you like it?
