Like most pop stars out there, some time before Christmas, pint-sized diva Ariana Grande released a track especially for the holiday season, called “Santa Tell Me,” which you will find embedded below. This may sound like a cheerful song, but it’s anything but that, Ariana explains in a new interview cited by Gossip Cop.

We may have found the first person in this world or at least the first celebrity to go on the record saying that she’s “repulsed by Santa.” Ariana has had too much heartbreak over Christmas to really be cheerful about it.

“[The song is] quite sardonic and depressing. I’m like saying, ‘Santa what is your deal bro?’ I feel although it’s one of the most cheerful times of the year, I see tons of heartbreak and they make movies about it. It’s like a (Wham!) Last Christmas vibe,” Ariana explains.

However, at least this year, she has nothing to complain about in the romance department: she and Big Sean have been dating since earlier this year, and recently became confident enough in the relationship as to go public with it.

Still, I imagine Ariana has no guarantee that he will be around for next year, hence all her disappointment in Santa Claus. She should probably not worry too much, because word online has it that he gave her a ring for a present: not an engagement ring, but close enough, a ring to signify he’s committed to making it work.

Even without this “guarantee,” if you can call it that, it seems a bit excessive for Ariana to say that she’s “repulsed” by Santa, does it not?
