14 DAY TRIAL // Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran were the performers booked for the 2014 Victoria’s Secret annual show, which took place in London the other night and will air on TV later this month. Of the three, only Ariana was smacked in the face with one of the Angels’ giant wings.
The good news is that she wasn’t hurt at all, managing to duck in the nick of time. The even better news is that the photo of her ducking was so hilarious that it became a meme within minutes.

Ariana’s performance was flawless, with one minor exception
This was Taylor’s second time performing for the annual show of the lingerie giant and Ariana’s first. Seeing how only the hottest pop stars of the moment are asked to perform, you could take this as a testament of Ariana’s popularity – but her solid position in the charts and the many appearances she’s been doing lately can also confirm that she’s pretty hot right now.
The performance was flawless, as per usual. Ariana might be tiny in body but she’s got an amazing voice that’s even earned her comparisons to Mariah Carey, which she doesn’t really appreciate. She also has a solid command over it and has built up her stage confidence, both of which are essential for a solid performance.
The only mishap occurred when Angel Elsa Hosk came up behind her and accidentally hit her in the head with the giant pink wings she had strapped on her back, during the “Pink” portion of the show.

The VS annual show, quite a lot to talk about
Though the Victoria’s Secret show is an annual thing, this year, it managed to make even more headlines than before. First of all, there was this mishap with Ariana, and then there was the inclusion of not one but two Fantasy Bras at the end.
They were worn by Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio, and were estimated to have cost $2 million (€1.62 million) apiece. Each Bra took over 1,300 hours to make because all the rubies, diamonds, and sapphires were hand-sewn to the fabric and the 18-carat gold. And there were thousands of them!
The third reason why this year’s VS show made this many headlines is Taylor’s only condition for returning for a performance: apparently, she had model Jessica Hart booted from the show because, after last year’s performance, the latter told the media that she (Jessica) felt that she (Taylor) didn’t “fit in” on the VS stage when she performed.
To come back, Taylor wanted to make sure that Jessica would not walk the catwalk, which is precisely what happened. Meow!
