Now you know how Cupid feels

Since Valentine’s Day just passed, Sugar Games thought it would be a good idea to release a hidden object game that fits the theme. Matchmaker: Joining Hears comes to enforce the idea that everyone has a kindred spirit somewhere and it takes a little bit of effort to find it.

As any hidden object game, you start off with a story; in this case, you turn out to be a matchmaker. Your main goal is to help people find their special someone and give them a push in the right direction. Each new challenge will give you the opportunity to study the lives of multiple strangers and compare their hobbies and personalities to one of your “customers.” Although matchmaking is not a business in the true sense of the word, you seem to be making a living off of it.

Investigating the homes of perfect strangers and searching for clues can prove to be a more than difficult task at times and this is why the game provides you with a hint system. All you have to do is tap the little Cupid in the lower left corner of the screen and an arrow will guide you to one of the missing items. As simple as it may be, you still need to give the little guy time to recharge, so this means that you will need to search for objects on your own.

As far as the graphics of each setting is concerned, the quality is to be appreciated mostly because none of the objects seem to stand out at a first glance. All of them have been carefully blended into the scenery so that tracking them down should be both more difficult and more fun at the same time. You will find that in some cases, you will not be given the description of the item that you are looking for, but an image of them.

Although this is a hidden object game by nature, it doesn't mean that all you have to do is click around in search for your mission objects. The game also features a “spot the difference” challenge that will come as a relaxation time from eyeballing random little objects.

As Helen Jones, you will be responsible for coupling ten romantic singles throughout the entire game. You will achieve this by setting the right mood with a romantic candle dinner by the seaside or by using other tricks that couples do whenever they want to know each other better. The point is that you will go to the right person whenever love is in the air because you have the nose for finding true soul mates.

On an overall basis, the game is definitely a good choice for any romantic that still believes in the meaning of love, especially on Valentine’s Day, and if after the sixty-minute trial offered by the game, you still feel the need for more, you can unlock the full version for only 9.95 dollars.
