What do you know! I guess it pays off to be annoying and boring at times, and go into long rants about what it means to be fat and so on. I'm not being mean here - just realistic. Just to make everything clear, I'm talking about Jennifer Love Hewitt, and I'm sure you all know by now about that "scandal" involving her, a couple of bikini shots and some nasty comments made on how she seems to be gaining weight. But that's not the topic of this article - and I won't dwell on it any longer than it takes me to say that in the end, people are biased and physical beauty is a concept that's been so stretched and twisted over the past decades that it's really all down to personal perception - while bearing in mind that one can never please everybody.
Well, as I was telling you, the controversy really worked to Jennifer Love Hewitt's advantage. You see, I think we can pretty much call this a vicious circle: girl gets photographed wearing bikini, girl gets criticized, girl fights back against criticism (adopting a point of view that is purely biased, because, like it or not, in Hollywood more than anywhere in the world, weight DOES matter), girl gets popular, girls gets more job offers... and it's back to being photographed and criticized. And we're back going once again round and round the same old block.
Want proof that controversy is good? Jennifer Love Hewitt has apparently hit the jackpot with her "To all the girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini" rant - and has apparently been offered a huge amount of money in exchange for a Playboy magazine spread. Um... a Playboy spread involves her posing naked, right? More photos of her, more material for controversy... boy, that Hugh Hefner guy sure moves fast and knows his business.
Apparently, Jennifer said no - but only because if she had accepted, the hypocrisy of it all would have been way to obvious. I'm pretty sure she won't be refusing the next offer so easily - particularly since by then enough water will have gone under the bridge for her to state that in fact she just wanted to prove to the world that she can be branded "fat" and still shoot a Playboy spread. Just don't tell Lily Allen about this one - I really don't want her in Playboy anytime soon. No way!
