The Britney Disease Leaves No Survivors

It's Britney mania taken to a whole new level! Have a look at this nice compilation put together by one of my favorite gossip sites out there, and you'll see what I mean. If media attention was what Britney was after, then she sure got what she asked for - and then some. Saying that she is the talk of the day is a grave understatement, and frankly, I feel pretty much powerless when confronted with this avalanche of media attention all directed at the popwreck. We are promised first-hand stories about everything from what her kids saw during the already famous police stand-off, to the truth about her mental illness, to new, extra-spicy details of that night and a shower of predictions about what will happen next - needless to say, something bad. I bet you anything that wherever she is right now, Britney is having a laugh and toasting a frappuccino to all the news editors who made her America's ultimate tragic heroine.

The fact is, Britney better be enjoying that frap, since it seems that her days on the loose are numbered. In addition to all the ongoing drama, gossip site TMZ promises us more of the same. It's the logical thing to do now - since we're all so focused on the popwreck and her exploits, it's natural to crave more. Britney is just like any other addiction, right? The fact is, we are told that Brit's family is taking a break from looking after her pregnant sister and planning an intervention to give Britney the mental help they say she needs. What that means is that she may be receiving that treatment whether she likes it or not - and may even end up being committed to a mental hospital - against her will, of course. But that would certainly be the ultimate solution, and they are said to be considering a number of other possible ways of making Brit Brit see sense. I personally feel they're fighting a losing battle but hey, who am I to say?

This in turn may prove to be the reason for which Brit reportedly packed her photographer friend Adnan into a private jet and is said to be en route to new York. Taking the crazy all across the country! Apparently Brit got on board the plane with Adnan and another male companion. Oh, boy, I sure hope they're not having sex on board. Can you imagine a Britney sex tape called "Plane Threesome - Britney Gets Screwed" or something like that! I bet she's quite easy too fool, though - just tell her they're shooting a remake for her "Toxic" video and she'll buy it. OK, that was not funny. I sure hope a "Britney hijacks plane' drama isn't on the way. The more I think about it, the dizzier I become. Time to stop, I think.
