Arctic Cooling, a company well-renowned for its high-performance low-noise custom cooling solutions, has just announced the introduction of a new VGA cooler that is equipped with an universal mounting mechanism and uses a single fan design.

The new cooler is named the Accelero Mono PLUS and is an improved version of the Accelero L2 Plus the company launched a while back.

Compared to its predecessors however, the Mono PLUS swaps the 92mm fan for a larger 120mm fan that should provide better cooling performance and lower operating noise.

Under the 12mm fan, Arctic's latest design features an aluminum heatsink with five 6mm thick heatpipes that are connected to an all-copper base.

The base is surrounded by a mounting plate and this has been specially redesigned in order to allow the cooler to be installed on a wider variety of graphics cards, from both AMD/ATI and Nvidia, without requiring any additional hardware to be purchased.

In addition to the changes brought to the mounting plate, the Mono PLUS will also be shipped with an impressive collection of VRM and memory heatsinks, which come pre-applied with an electrically non-conductive thermal glue.

This was specially designed to provide better thermal conductivity that traditional thermal tapes and pads, while it can also be removed without leaving any residues behind.

The fan that Arctic Cooling has used for the Mono PLUS is PWM controlled and its rotation speed varies between 400 and 1500 RPM.

Right now, we don't know when Arctic's Cooling new solution will arrive in the retail market, but the company has revealed that the VGA cooler will be priced at 59.95 USD or 43.98 EUR, excluding VAT, depending on what side of the pond you happen to live.
