Android gamers in the US rejoice as Archos has just introduced the long-awaited GamePad tablet in the country.

The tablet was originally scheduled for a February release, but due to unforeseen issues the GamePad only arrives in the States today.

The 7-inch tablet ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and packs a 1.6 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor, accompanied by a Mali 400 MP graphics processing unit.

There is 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage inside, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

The slate also packs a 2-megapixel rear camera, as well as a secondary VGA front-facing camera.
