Archos Celebrates Chaplin! Launches Limited Edition "605 de Charlie"!

The 605 WiFi PMP is to be sold in MK2s

Archos celebrates in its own way 30 years since Charlie Chaplin died. And since there is no better way to do it, the giant French electronic company has prepared a limited edition of one of its best seller items, the 605 portable media player.

The limited edition is going to celebrate Charlie Chaplin, and of course it's going to wear the artist's name. The new 605 PMP is expected to feature almost the same technical specs as the former version of the portable device did, such as the impressive 20GB internal memory capacity. The manufacturers used only black and white shades, just like the ones used in Charlot's movies. And do not worry, it should reveal some great sound performance.

The limited edition of the portable media player is being developed in partnership with MK2 chain of supermarkets, therefore, it shouldn't comes as a surprise that these fellows are the only store to sell these babies. An important aspect of the portable media player is the fact that its internal memory storage allows the owner to pack 10 of the extraordinary Chaplin movies. It's also a great thing they made it WiFi compatible, working with WiFi (802.11g) connection. Private listening is possible with the 3.5 mm mini jack for headphones it was equipped with. And there are also some docking connectors to plug in DVR Station and other ARCHOS accessories you can get from MK2 also.

The portable device is also available in 30GB, 80GB and 160GB size, reveals a generous 4.3 inch TFT touch LCD screen display in 16 million colors, supports the USB 2.0 interface for the media files transfer.

Regarding its main capabilities, the player can deal with MP3, WMA, WAV, JPEG, BMP and PNG file formats, as well as MPEG-4, WMV and more. Not to mention it can also read PDF documents and lasts up to 17 hours of continuous playback, using only one internal lithium-ion polymer battery.

If you're one of those nostalgic Chaplin fans, you'd better check it out, starting the November 2007, in MK2 stores, as well at Archos's web store, where the player retails for about 300 bucks a Charlie!
