Archos has pulled the veil off its latest tablet under the Gen 11 banner, dubbed Archos 101 XS 2. It’s a mid-range offering with decent specs, so those on the market for a budget slate might want to check it out.

The slate sports a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixel density. The inside is home to a 1.6GHz quad-core CPU coupled with 2GB of RAM. There are 16GB of internal storage offered onboard, with the possibility of increase up to 64GB.

Archos bundles with the offer, a neat keyboard cover nicknamed “Coverboard,” which magnetically attaches to the slate. It’s pretty sleek and slim and the company doesn't charge extra for it, so it’s definitely a nice addition.

The slate runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean so users can tap into all the Google goodness. Archos has slipped in OfficeSuite Pro 6 for MS Office document supports, as well. On top of that, there’s its own branded suite of media apps that enable movie and TV streaming. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS are also present.

Keep an eye out for the tablet, as it’s scheduled to arrive in the UK in December. It will become available for purchase via Archos’s official web store for the price of £249.99 / $402 / €298.
