Despite how Archos consistently fails to make an impression on the multitude of people who want a tablet or two, its inventions are still alive and kicking and, apparently, getting the latest Android too.

As XDA-developers forum member LeTama revealed in a video, an unofficial port of Android 4.0 was made to work on the 10.1-inch electronic.

LeTama shared the build, even though WiFi is not yet functioning and neither does the audio and video, among other things.

On the bright side, the user did manage to make the touchscreen function, as well as the 3D driver.

If you're particularly knowledgeable about software programming, you might be able to do what LeTama didn't get around to and make the Archos software packs operate in this context.

The user himself will probably get the proprietary audio and video player running eventually, but there is no telling when that might happen.
