PeaZip 4.8.1, an open source file and archive manager that can be used to extract, create and convert multiple archives at once, has been announced.

The PeaZip developers have stated that the present version, 4.8.1, came with more consistent design, reduced duplication and better discoverability of functionalities.

Highlights of PeaZip 4.8.1:

• Sharing and communication features are improved, with Dropbox, Google Drive, SkyDrive, and Ubuntu One sync folders automatically detected and listed for navigation, extraction and compression;
• A better mail integration has been achieved with "Zip and mail" entry in context menu;
• New features include a new tool bar for batch management of graphic files (rotate, crop, resize, convert), and a new sidebar listing main program's functions sorted alphabetically;
• Files being previewed within archives are now set read only in order to raise "save as" prompt if modified.
