14 DAY TRIAL // Archetype, the newly announced first-person shooter from Villain, an important producer and publisher of mobile games, is now available for iPhone and iPod touch and can be downloaded via iTunes. It was developed by MunkyFun, creators of Shift and Ivory Tiles for iPhone. The game is an intense online multiplayer first-person shooter designed exclusively for iPhone (particularly iPhone 4) and iPod touch, delivering a new kind of mobile mayhem on these platforms.

The game offers players a high quality console-style FPS experience multiplayer deathmatches with teams, experience points and player ranks. Archetype supports up to ten gamers that can play a team deathmatch just about anywhere. It also offers the feature to quickly add friends to the challenge list, thus making it easier to start a game.
The story is pretty simple, as you start playing as a cadet, you level up, earn higher ranks and win medals by joining team-based deathmatches. The game features six unique weapon types ranging from rapid-fire guns, devastating missile launchers, the brutal melee axe and two distinct grenade types including a "split-strike" grenade.
Other features include: player rank-based team matchmaking to ensure balanced teams, as well as comprehensive buddy lists and radar-based enemy tracking to help players coordinate team-based attacks. Also, good news for those that wish to play on their iPad device, the game is fully compatible.
Archetype requires a stable Wi-Fi, 3G or EDGE connectivity and is available for download from Apple's App Store for as low as GBP 1.79.
