Today, September 1, 2013, the Arch Linux developers were happy to launch the monthly ISO image of their popular and powerful operating system, Arch Linux 2013.09.01, which is now available for download on mirrors worldwide (see download link at the end of the article).

Arch Linux 2013.09.01 contains a new kernel, updated packages, updated/new translations, as well as various improvements and bugfixes, ready for those who want to install Arch Linux on new machines.

Therefore, Arch Linux 2013.09.01 uses Linux kernel 3.10 (3.10.10 is the actual version) and includes all the updates that were released during the past month, August 2013.

As usual, existing Arch Linux users don’t need to download this updated ISO image of Arch Linux, as it is intended only for new installations. Instead, you can keep your healthy Arch Linux installation up-to-date using the sudo pacman -Syu command.

Arch Linux 2013.09.01 is distributed as a dual architecture ISO image, supporting both 64-bit and 32-bit platforms. More details can be found on Arch Linux's official website.
