As expected, earlier today (June 1, 2013), the Arch Linux developers unleashed the monthly dual CD ISO image of the Arch Linux operating system for new installations.

Arch Linux 2013.06.01 is now available for download on mirrors worldwide, and it is powered by the latest stable Linux kernel, version 3.9.4. This monthly updated ISO image also contains all the updated packages from the last release.

As usual, this ISO image of Arch Linux is intended only for new installations. For a comprehensive installation tutorial, please check our “A Beginners' Guide to Installing Arch Linux” article.

Existing Arch Linux users don’t need to download this ISO to have an up-to-date installation, just run sudo pacman -Syu from time to time.

Arch Linux 2013.06.01 is distributed as a single and dual architecture, CD size ISO image, supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms.
