Arch Linux, an independently developed i686/x86-64 general purpose GNU/Linux distribution that focuses on simplicity, minimalism, and code elegance, is now at version 2012.08.04.

According to the developers, the biggest change in this new version of Arch Linux, 2012.08.04, is the introduction of GRUB 2.0 instead of the old legacy 0.9 that was previously included in the distribution.

Other changes implemented are as follows: the Installation Guide can be found at /root/install.txt, ZSH with Grml's configuration is now used as interactive shell to provide a user-friendly and more convenient environment (including completion support for pacstrap, Arch-chroot, pacman and most other tools), and the network daemon is now started by default (this will automatically set up your network if DHCP is available).

Don't forget that all these implemented changes only affect the live system and not the base system users install using pacstrap. Download Arch Linux 2012.08.04 right now from Softpedia.
