AquaFold is the company that produces Aqua Data Studio, a visual database query and administration tool written in Java that allows developers to create, edit and run SQL scripts, as well as using a visual approach to browse and modify database structures.

Aqua Data Studio can also be used to provide an integrated environment able to connect to major relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, mySQL, DB2, Oracle, Sybase and Informix, plus the generic ODBC and JDBC connections, allowing database administrators and developers to handle multiple tasks at a time using a single GUI front-end application.

Now, Aqua Data Studio has been updated to version 6.0, offering new database administration tools for Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase ASE inside a package that benefits from better Mac OS X integration. The refreshed version of this program also features complete and customizable keymapping profiles, tabbed documents, redesigned toolbars and menu action items.

According to the above, the new look and feel of the application uses the OS X native look for all its components to make it indistinguishable from native applications, the entire application and the editor using native key bindings corresponding to the OS X UI guidelines, while the menu items don't use icons or mnemonics anymore.

The customizable keymappings now allow users to handle the application without a mouse, while the scrollable tabs allow for less clutter by providing an easy way to work with a large number of open tabs.

The last version of Aqua Data Studio offers much more than just the above, and I am sure that database administrators will be really happy to discover all its new features. On Mac systems, you'll need at least OS X 10.4 to install the fully functional demo version, and if you want to buy this program, then it may be interesting for you to find out that a single-user commercial license costs 400$.
