HERE, the company owned by Nokia, has just announced its first wearable device is aimed at kitties not humans.

While Samsung, Apple, LG, Huawei, Motorola and other major smartphones makers are focusing on delivering wearable for people, Nokia did the unthinkable and unveiled the HERE Kitty collar for domestic cats.

HERE Kitty is no ordinary collar. Thanks to the cutting-edge technology inside, the geo-intelligent device is beneficial for both cats and owners.

The project's head of development, Leo Mouser said, “This is not just my pet project, but is the first foray into hardware from HERE – and we want to make an impact. Leveraging our map and location intelligence expertise, we wanted to create something that would radically improve the lives of both pets and owners.”

So how does it work? Well, HERE Kitty has multiple uses like the fact that it uses HERE maps to show exactly where your cat is down to 10 cm precision.

Also, owners can make use of the collar to find out if their pet is living a double life. Basically, you will receive real-time notifications of its whereabouts, so you will know if your feline is cheating on you.

Owners will also have the option to train you cat to communicate with your feline via HERE Kitty by teaching it to lick the fish bone symbol on the collar.

“For example, one lick informs you that your pet is coming home and is hungry, so get the food ready. Three licks, on the other hand, tells you: ‘don’t wait up, I’m having a late one.’”

HERE also confirmed that it would add an imaging feature for the collar named PurrView, in the coming months. Developers announced that they worked hard to make sure HERE Kitty worked on all OSes, including making it backwards compatible with the MewGo operating system.

HERE Kitty will be available for purchase later this month and the leather and steel version will cost only $249. However, if you want a little more for your favorite pet, then you can get the premium model, integrating compressed Iron Pyrites, which will cost no less than $18,000.
