The studio shows its announcements and new features

Blizzard has commenced its April Fools announcements, and while some are completely fake, such as the promise of a real-life space ship for those who get StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void, others are real, such as a Big Head mode for Heroes of the Storm.

April 1 is a day to be feared in the gaming industry, as nothing is certain and mostly everything is an elaborate hoax, so fans tread lightly and take every new announcement with a grain of salt.

Blizzard, however, takes April Fools quite seriously and offers a variety of different activities to fans of its different titles.

Big Head Mode is live in Heroes of the Storm for April 1

First up, Heroes of the Storm players should notice that the heads of their actual heroes are a bit bigger than they once were. This is because the Big Head mode for the game has been turned on by Blizzard, resulting in massive heads for all the characters present in the game.

According to the official website, Big Head mode offers more variety and shows off the work it's already done to model the faces of all the heroes in the game.

It's unclear if Big Head mode is live just for today, April 1, or for the whole month, so expect to hear more about that soon.

Pre-order a StarCraft 2 Spear of Adun space ship that's done in 2315

Meanwhile, StarCraft fans can pre-order an actual real-life space ship ahead of the launch of StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void later in the year. Unfortunately, while Blizzard hypes up the vessel to great lengths on the official website, the fine print says that the space ship will be completed in 2315, so it might take a while before you are able to pilot it.

You can expect a few more April Fools announcements from Blizzard later in the day.
