Major overhaul on all levels, including UI, discovery, search, and sharing

Appsfire has released an overhauled iOS client touted as “the best way to find your next favorite app.” The app discovery service helps iOS customers sift through the best titles and offers in Apple’s iTunes Store.

Enabling iDevice owners to spot the best apps based on proprietary scores, rather than iTunes user ratings, Appsfire spots the best apps and deals every day. You get notified for stuff like paid apps gone free, major updates, new promotions, etc.

“Appsfire Deals” becomes “Appsfire” in version 4.0, complete with a new icon. The interface is simpler and cleaner, allowing users to view more apps right at launch. And the scores are now viewable right from the main screen.

You can now spot new apps and browse through app mixes thanks to an updated discovery engine, and the search function has been enhanced as well.

Customers who are tired of downloading “free” apps only to discover that their best features are accessible via in-app purchases can now filter their searches to download titles that are actually (totally) free.

If you have a few favorites you want to share with the rest of the world, simply create your own mix of apps.

“Check out the new Save button when you’re viewing an app and create your mix,” says Appsfire.

Those who don’t fancy games all that much can now completely remove Games from their streams.

A few “minor” changes are noted, including the ability to see which people have favorited each app (complete with comments); notifications for whenever your friends spot a cool app; and the ability to save a frequently used query to make searching more convenient.

Appsfire 4.0 is compatible with any iPhone, iPod touch or iPad model that can run iOS 5.0 or later. The app is optimized for iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5th generation.
