iOS 8 brings a new option for developers as anyone can have access to the TouchID fingerprint sensor. In iOS 7 and iPhone 5s, Apple was using the TouchID home button only to unlock the phone and to make purchases in AppStore and iTunes. Now, they have opened the option to anyone interested.

Despite the initial interest coming from developers and users alike, there are only a handful of apps using this feature to unlock content. One of the most awaited apps to include TouchID functionality is 1Password and its developers have not only included the feature in their new release, but they also made the app free. In 1Password, you can unlock the app and replace the Master Password with your fingerprint.

Another similar app is Last Pass, but you can also use your finger for Discover Mobile banking app and even to sign into your Amazon account. TouchID capabilities were included in the Evernote app, but only for premium users.

Banking apps like Mint or Simple will protect your bank account info or reveal it just to you with just a touch. Yplan, Memoir, eHarmony, Etrade, Keeper, Lowe's and Scanner Pro made it on this list as well.

The last app we're going to mention is one of our favorites for its elegant design and functionality. Day One is the journaling app with multiple awards created by a team of developers dedicated to bringing the most useful features. You can now unlock your journals with a gentle tap on the TouchID sensor.
