Being an Apple supplier must be good business these days. The Cupertino tech giant expects to sell close to a million new devices in the winter season and that translates into some good money for the manufacturers.
Two pieces of news came out today about Apple's plans in the microchips business. The first one details the next-generation M8 coprocessor for iPhone 6.
The Codename for the next-gen chip is "Phosphorus" and it may bring some new capabilities to the future iPhone 6. A schematics showed up online via GeekBar. Although the info could not be verified, Apple is expected to add new sensors to the motion coprocessor. The M8 will probably bring barometric pressure sensing in the iPhone 6.
Digitimes also reports that Apple is getting ready to place a huge order of their future A9 processor. The manufacturer will be Apple's trusted partner, TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) and they are expected to start working in the first quarter of 2015.
