Apple makes it easier to purchase numerous copies of the same app if you work for a company or a school. The Volume Purchase Program has two main components related to Business and Education. Both bring significant discounts for the customers.

Apple announced they would extend the Volume Purchase Program almost a month ago, but the change did not go into effect until today. In their memo, the Cupertino tech giant says they can sell in big volumes in countries like Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.

This program is crafted in such a way that educational institutions can purchase multiple copies of an app at the same time. For example, as a business you can purchase apps and books for the entire workforce.

Everyone has access to apps in the AppStore, but there is a way to get custom B2B apps for iOS. The distribution of the apps is done in a centralized manner. The company can send a profile to the phone and once the user accepts and installs it, he can download all the apps right away at no cost to him.

The educational part of the program is even better. Imagine you could be buying interactive books for a whole class of students, or even for the entire school and only pay half the price. As long as you buy 20 or more apps or books, you will get that discount. The Volume Purchase Program for schools brings even more options. The teachers can remotely install apps and add books to the students iPads or Macs.

Apple prides itself with their education programs. iPad in the classroom is one of those that get the students more interested in what the teacher has to say. Apps like iTunes U even make it easier for the teacher to conduct classes and assign homework to the students.

The lessons are delivered automatically and the students can read, watch a video or listen to a recording while learning a certain subject.

Apple also has built-in tools for kids that need special education. Technologies like VoiceOver, built-in Braille support and Sticky Keys help students navigate and control the Mac without the need of additional 3rd-party software. The iBookstore has plenty of textbooks for students, but they are only designed for the kids in United States for now.
