Cupertino airs two new iPhone ads that look almost identical to the previous ones

Apple has been airing a new breed of TV commercials for its iProducts in the past few months, featuring some annoying drumroll-ing and a chorus that shouts single words out loud. And they’re not very catchy.

Even the Get a Mac ads were pretty much identical to one another from a conceptual standpoint, but each and every one of them conveyed a different story. It was all in the setting and the intonation of the actors. Of course, the rocky history between Apple and Microsoft played a huge part in their success.

But those commercials were nothing short of breathtaking: 1) because they featured two lovable characters; 2) because they had a new story to tell each and every time; and 3) because they were utterly original.

These new drumroll ads are cute, at best. And I think they’re getting old faster than we can start to like them.
