As it aims to revolutionize education through its all-purpose tablet computers and the comprehensive iOS operating system, Apple has refreshed the Education section on its web site, less than a month before the unveiling of iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks.

Over at Apple and Education, a message conveying the company’s mission sits atop of a heartening photo depicting a child using an iPad.

“We believe that technology has the power to transform the classroom. It can pave new ways of thinking. New ways of sparking ideas.”

“Yet the foundation never changes: A dedication to learning that's always been part of our DNA. We've been proud to work alongside educators and students to reinvent what it means to teach and learn. And together we're going things we never thought possible,” Apple states.

The Education section is now divided into three distinct areas:

- one for the Mac, with Apple claiming it has been powering the classroom since 1984;

- one for Special Education, where the Cupertino giant touts its various Accessibility features in iOS and OS X, as well as a hoard of third-party apps designed for kids with disabilities;

- and one that speaks to the public in a clear and direct manner, featuring real stories from teachers and parents, developers and even the children themselves.

Apple has been pushing hard to make its products more relevant for education as of late, and one such example is the company’s decision to open the iTunes Store to kids who are 13 and younger.

New tools are also being deployed for school administrators and teachers, including new Mobile Device Management options.

Apple’s revamped Education site can be found here, and you can also use it to get a discounted iPad or an iPhone, as part of the company’s special offers for education.
