With two new MacBook Air computers released, Apple has finally treated the Special Deals section of its online store to some old-generation units priced at just $849. We’re talking about the 13-inch model which comes with a standard of 2GB of memory, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics, a 1.86GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and a 13.3-inch display.

Remember when we asked Why Would You Buy the MacBook Air?. Well, you can now buy one for just $849. And it's the updated model with an NVIDIA 9400M chipset. Although it may sound surreal, it’s not.

The Special Deals area of Apple’s store is the place where the company sells pre-owned computers that have gone through its stringent refurbishment process, prior to going on sale again, this time at a much cheaper price.

For those who consider mobility more of a priority than a fast processor, the old-generation MacBook Air selling for $849 is clearly a bargain.

Although rather old, Apple’s original MacBook Air can still handle complex tasks, and it is as portable as portable gets.

In case you’ve forgotten, its dimension are:

Height - 0.16-0.76 inch (0.4-1.94 cm)
Width - 12.8 inches (32.5 cm)
Depth - 8.94 inches (22.7 cm)
Weight - 3.0 pounds (1.36 kg)4

The computer has a 13.3-inch glossy widescreen display, 2GB of memory, a 120GB SATA hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics, a built-in iSight camera, and is ccovered by Apple's one-year limited warranty.
