Apple’s new iPhone model will soon become available for purchase on the largest carrier network in the world, China Mobile, as the device has just received the necessary approvals from local regulators, the Wall Street Journal reports.

China Mobile never offered the iPhone to its users before, although other wireless operators in the country did.

The telecoms giant currently has over 700 million subscribers, and is expected to greatly expand the reach of Apple’s devices when they become available for purchase.

However, no specific info on such a deal has been provided as of now, despite the fact that the Apple iPhone was approved with support for the carrier’s TD-LTE bands (38, 39, and 40).

Apparently, both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C (unveiled yesterday) might land on shelves at the company in the not too distant future, though it remains to be seen when exactly that will happen.

In case you missed Apple’s announcement, you might want to know that the new iPhone 5S packs a 4-inch Retina display and the same design as its predecessor.

However, the phone was also unveiled with an all-new 8-megapixel iSight camera with True Tone flash, and with a new A7 chip, which features a 64-bit desktop-class architecture. There is also support for up to 13 LTE wireless bands included in the device.

Running under iOS 7, the device also packs features such as Control Center, Notification Center, improved Multitasking, AirDrop, enhanced Photos, Safari, Siri, and iTunes Radio.

The iPhone 5C, on the other hand, was announced as a cheaper alternative, featuring a plastic design and the same screen size as the iPhone 5s.

The smartphone was announced with an A6 processor inside, an 8-megapixel camera, a new FaceTime HD camera, and LTE connectivity. It also runs under iOS 7, with all of the aforementioned features included.

The iPhone 5C was unveiled in a multitude of color options, which actually determined Nokia to start mocking Apple, claiming that the phone copied its Lumia smartphones.
