Apple’s Jony Ive Scheduled for Deposition by December 1, 2011

Jonathan Ive and other designers are scheduled to provide depositions in the ongoing patent infringement suit between the California, US-based Apple Inc. and South Korea’s Samsung Electronics.

Court documents obtained by Edible Apple reveal that Samsung plans to have depositions from multiple Apple designers, including the company’s senior vice president of industrial design, Jonathan Ive, by the end of the month.

The depositions were originally scheduled for October but the deadline got extended because the witnesses would be unable to attend. Ive, for example, is listed as “unable to sit for deposition before November 1 for personal reasons.”

Ive and others are now scheduled to provide their deposition by December 1, while their testimonies will be taken into consideration in the expedited trial scheduled to begin July 30, 2012.

Other inventors on Samsung’s list include, Douglas Satzger, Shin Nishibori, and Christopher Stringer.
