Renderings based on a recent leak could show us the “budget” iPhone

Earlier this month a plastic iPhone case got leaked in photos. It appeared to be a valid Apple design, so the tech blogosphere took it seriously. Designers did too.

Pictured above is the work of Ferry Passchier (commissioned by 9to5mac), a 3D modeler who used his expertise and a computer to create 3-dimensional renderings that could convey the “budget” iPhone’s final design to the world.

Mind you, the device has not been confirmed, even though it’s on everybody’s lips. If Apple does end up launching two new iPhones this year (including one predictable iPhone 5S), the cheaper version is very likely to look like this.

Crammed together below are more renderings of the potential final design of the multi-color iPhone “cheap.” While Apple is known to make a lot of money on iPhone cases, it’s not impossible for the company to try and generate more revenue with an altogether new iPhone model.
