Having faced scrutiny over outsourcing jobs, Apple recently started manufacturing some of its hot-selling products at home, in America.

The latest iMac line is a good example, and even more Macs are to be assembled in the US, according to Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.

In a 15-minute statement he gave to the U.S. Senate regarding a controversial corporate tax subject, Apple’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook, noted that his company was doing everything in its power to create and / or support jobs in the United States.

As part of that effort, Apple plans to build its next breed of Macintosh computers in Texas.

“We’re investing $100 million to build a Mac product line here in the U.S.,” Cook said.

“The product will be assembled in Texas, include components made in Illinois and Florida, and rely on equipment produced in Kentucky and Michigan.”

Apple is expected to unveil a new range of MacBook laptops, as well as a new Mac Pro workstation, later this year.
