“It’s on — the Apple shopping event is today” is the message that greets visitors of store.apple.com in the United States today. For the next 24 hours, customers will be able to enjoy special pricing on iPads, iPods and Macs, as well as accessories.

“Buy online and get fast, free shipping. Or shop at your favorite Apple Retail Store, where you’ll enjoy extended hours and even faster checkout with Express Shopping,” says Apple.

The deals have been live in Australia and New Zealand for a few hours now. It’s no surprise that the listings on Apple’s US store are reflecting the same minimal discounts as in other parts of the world.

Customers looking to nab an iPad with Retina display (fourth-generation) will pay $458, saving $41 in the process. An iPad 2 goes for $368 today, which translates into a $31 saving.

iPod touch players start at $268 for the 5th generation model ($31 savings), and go as low as $178 ($21 off) for the 4th-gen version. iPod nanos are discounted only $11 to sell for $138.

On the Mac front, customers can save $101 on any MacBook Pro or MacBook Air. The cheapest offering is the 11-inch ultra-thin MacBook Air with a 64GB SSD, 4GB of RAM, and a dual-core Intel Core i5 CPU clocked at 1.7 Ghz. It retails for $898 today only.

Non-Retina MacBook Pros now start at $1,098. The more-powerful versions which also ship with a crisp Retina display start at $1,598.

Discounted accessories include AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, Time Capsule, the Apple Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and Wireless Keyboard, iPad Smart Cases and Smart Covers, as well as Apple’s In-Ear Headphones and EarPods with Remote and Mic.

The discounts in the accessory department are quite reduced – the biggest being $21 (for Time Capsule and leather iPad Smart Covers).

Interestingly, Apple has left out the all-new iPad mini from this year’s Black Friday deals.
