Reports from Taiwan, the land of gadget assembly and electronic sweatshops, say Foxconn Electronics is now actively testing Apple television designs ranging from 46 to 55 inches in screen size.

Taiwan's Central News Agency reports that “Initial testing of Apple Inc.'s television sets have gotten underway at Hon Hai Precision Industry Co.,” citing an anonymous source at the company.

Hon Hai, the conglomerate behind Foxconn, reportedly declined to comment on the rumors. Which isn’t very surprising, considering its tight relationship with Apple Inc.

Nevertheless, the Hon Hai source reportedly said, “the initial phase of tests on the TVs has kicked off,” adding that the product would not launch until late next year.

Rumors about Apple’s full-fledged television product are abound with more and more analysts jumping on the iTV bandwagon supporting the now-general belief that Cupertino will one day take over the living room, just like it did with the smartphone and tablet industries.
