Apple to offer a professional tablet towards the end of 2015

Earlier today, we told you that the production of the rumored 12.9-inch iPad tablet made by Apple would be delayed until September 2015.

According to a report, the Cupertino tech giant will start the production of the new iPads sometime in September, with the delay being blamed on problems related to the supplying of display panels.

A few hours later, another report, produced by the Wall Street Journal this time, confirmed the same information, but added a few interesting tidbits to the developing story.

Details related to the big iPad are still being finessed

Since we’re quite a few months away from the iPad Plus or Pro (the name hasn't been confirmed yet) debut on the market, Apple is still mussing over the final design of the product, which involves the addition of advanced enterprise features.

We were told that the Cupertino tech giant would implement a USB 3.0 port on the tablet, which would actually be very good news, given the company’s love affair with proprietary connectors.

For the time being, we don’t know for sure whether the USB 3.0 port will be slipped into the Lightning port Apple makes use of in its new tablets.

Apart from this, the upcoming iPad is also said to take advantage of an optional keyboard and mouse.

Apple is also said to be tackling faster technology for data synchronization between the big iPad and other devices. In addition, the tech giant is focused on developing a faster charging system for the tablet, but it’s quite unclear now if the iPad Pro will be able to take advantage of this feature or not.

At some point in the past, it was rumored that Apple was planning to offer the tablet with a stylus. Combined with the information we revealed today, it’s pretty obvious the Cupertino company is building the iPad Pro to be an enterprise-friendly product.

The iPad Pro will take on the Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2

Remember that Samsung also launched the Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 series back at CES last year in Las Vegas. The tablet offers a spacious display and takes advantage of the S Pen technology. Samsung partners are also offering third-party keyboard accessories for the device. It does sound a lot like what Apple is trying to do with the upcoming iPad, isn’t it?

Let’s just hope Apple is not too late to the game.
