A week has passed since the announcement that Intel will be the Apple's new brain and now, things are starting to clarify.
Although Apple hasn't announced which Intel processor the company is interested in, Gartner analysts predict that those models will be Pentium M and Pentium D which will be integrated in notebooks,
PowerPCs and MacMinis.
In the study published by Gartner, the analysts say that Apple might have chosen Intel because of the virtualization and WiMAX technologies.
Gartner considers that for Apple switching to Intel won't be difficult. Analysts also say that the Cupertino company has no intention to compete with Microsoft.
Apple could use the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) to make sure that only Mac computers will run OS X, which means that the speculations that Windows might run on Macs were didn't have any real basis.
Still, considering that Apple didn't have an official comment on the matter, not even Gartner's study doesn't eliminate the possibility that Apple could at some point change strategy and allow the adapting of Mac OS X for PCs.
