Apple is now offering Refurbished MacBook Air units equipped with a 1.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB of memory and an 80 gig hard drive (that's non-solid state) for a new price (almost 15 percent cheaper) - $1,549. Apple Certified
refurbs include Apple's one-year limited warranty, the possibility to purchase AppleCare Protection and telephone support for 90 days (assistance for Apple-branded products). Hurry up if you were waiting for an offer like this - supplies are limited!

For $1,549 you get:

Refurbished MacBook Air

- 13.3-inch glossy widescreen display
- 2GB memory
- 80GB 4200-rpm PATA hard drive
- Built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
- Built-in iSight Camera...

... as far as hardware goes. You also get bundled software too, which includes Apple's own iLife '08, Front Row and Photo Booth. Also in the box there will be a 45W MagSafe Power Adapter, AC wall plug and power cord, Micro-DVI to DVI adapter, Micro-DVI to VGA adapter, display polishing cloth, install/restore DVDs, and printed and electronic documentation.

Shipping is free! Your refurbished Air will arrive on your doorsteps in 3 to 5 business days, according to Apple's website.

Apple's MacBook Air, although lacking a few vital features, is touted as offering an amazing color depth thanks to its 13.3-inch widescreen LED backlit display which delivers 1280-by-800 resolution. It is a well known fact that LED technology also conserves battery life.

Apple's Air also sports a full-size, illuminated keyboard, but also a trackpad that adopts many of the innovative Multi-Touch gestures from Apple's popular iPhone, such as "pinch," "swipe" and "rotate."

And, since the Air doesn't sport an optical drive, the "world's thinnest notebook" uses this unique feature (one that it cannot do without) called Remote Disc. It allows its user to access the DVD or CD drive of a Mac or PC close by, in order to install software or to retrieve files.
