The AppStore has been through some changes lately: adding videos in the main banner or new categories like "Best New Games" are just some of the things Apple hopes are going to attract more users.

Two job listings posted on July 3rd, 2014 suggest that Apple is looking to overhaul their operations in that area even more, especially on the Social Media front.

The most important job is the "Digital Marketing Manager" for Apple's AppStore. The guys up in Cupertino are looking for someone with 5-7 years of experience in digital marketing and "proven ability to innovate and deliver highly impactful marketing campaigns".

The qualifications list goes on asking for someone able to understand the iOS and Mac community, who would be able create large scale international projects.

The new hire will be part of a small team that works on the Social media strategy and email newsletters for the AppStore. It is a well-known fact that the AppStore and iTunes send weekly newsletters to their customers and Apple wants to change that to make them more engaging.

The AppStore has a Twitter and a Facebook account, but those are only involved in promoting new or great apps every once in a while and announce the "Free App of the Week".

The new Digital Marketing Manager job listing was posted in the same time with a position for "Interactive writer". Both jobs are in Santa Clara Valley, California and the new hires should work for 40 hours every week.

The Interactive Writer that Apple is looking for will be part of the "Interactive Product Launch Team": "Specifically, we need someone who can take a complicated piece of technology or software and make it sound simple and inspiring. [...] you may be asked to participate in large-scale brainstorming sessions to generate ideas for websites and digital campaigns, TV spots, video scripts, outdoor boards, guerrilla marketing, event graphics, and Keynote presentations."

The listing has something to do with the corporate initiatives as well. The Copywriter will be asked to participate with ideas in creating or changing the websites for Apple's Environmental, responsibility, education and accessibility policies.

The new guy should be able to know and understand Apple's products and solutions. Not only that, but whoever takes on the new job has to "translate" the new technologies for the customers. The writer will work with Creative Directors and partner with some of the best Art Directors and UX Designers out there.

If you're thinking you should apply for the job, take a step back and make sure you've got a great portfolio and your resume has good examples of TV ads and digital campaigns you were involved in.

Apple seems to be on a roll here, they hired two Partner Marketing Managers and an iAd Content Marketing Manager last month.
