Cupertino-based company Apple announced not too long ago that its App Store, the software solutions portal it launched for users of an iPhone or an iPod, reached the number of 100,000 applications. When compared to the number of applications available through other similar portals around, the amount of iPhone software solutions is more than impressive, yet it seems that Apple does not plan on stopping here.
According to some of the latest reports around the Internet, Apple is looking for application developers for the iPhone operating system. It seems that the company plans on hiring devs with at least 3 or 4 years of experience in the development of apps and games. Moreover, the software solutions will come to the market for both the iPhone and iPod touch, and will have Apple's logo on them.
The mobile phone application market is already known to be on the rise, and it seems that Apple wants to have a taste of it too. Moreover, the company is also expected to make a few steps into mobile games area, and should push some titles for both iPhone and iPod touch. There are already a series of games available for the two devices, including those like NBA Live, Madden, and Rock Band, or some famous arcade games from Namco, but the word is that Apple would plan to deliver more titles, so as to prove that the two handsets are great gaming devices.
According to a recent
post on examiner, this might also mean that Apple is considering “going after the Nintendo DS and the PSP in its pursuit of gaming goodness in the palm your hand.” In case Apple finds the right developer, it might indeed be able to demonstrate that the iPhone and iPod touch are legitimate gaming devices. At the same time, this is also a great opportunity for devs to enjoy having almost endless resources at their disposal, not to mention the number of users that their solutions would reach at.
