With the much awaited release of the new iPhone, there are some concerns regarding the safety of the connection between the devices and Internet servers. Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., a company that specializes in providing security software solutions, is tackling the issue by offering the
VPN-1, which ensures that remote access to corporate network systems is done safely by making sure the data in transit is encrypted. Access to corporate servers is done immediately, and the VPN-1 will work with current and future iPhone versions. There is no need to install security software on the iPhone as the VPN-1 ensures you can access your e-mail, web portals, file servers, IP-based corporate applications through its encrypted connection, which makes web surfing as safe as possible.

Bob Egner, vice president of product management with Check Point comments: "With the success of the iPhone, IT departments received multiple requests to connect the new devices to the corporate network. The diversity of personal equipment in the work place makes the enforcement of security policies difficult. We offer security solutions and single management across the many endpoint devices available to corporate professionals. For the iPhone, Check Point created a simple configuration that provides instant, secure connectivity through VPN-1 gateways."

Check Point VPN-1 can be used on any corporate network, regardless of its size. The customer can choose between various features, such as accelerated security, UTM (short for unified threat management) and virtualized security. There is a secret password that is shared by the network admins, and all the iPhones currently logged into the network each have specific security credentials. This way separate gateway authentication keys no longer have to be created. Proof that the software solution works, and works well, is the fact that Fortune 500 companies rely on Check Point security software solutions on a daily basis.
