14 DAY TRIAL // A giant new iPad is said to be coming out of Apple this year and we've been hearing rumors regarding the model for quite a while.
No one knows for sure when the Cupertino tech giant plans to release the device on the market, but the leaks regarding it have been abundant over the past few months, meaning that the launch will happen sooner or later.
In the past, we saw a bunch of images showing third-party cases for the tablet and the alleged casing for the device. But today we bring you something more.
The folks at VandaagApple have managed to dig out of China’s social media website Weibo (as seen at HD Blog) some images depicting the iPad Pro or iPad Plus (whatever term you prefer).
Is this the big iPad Pro?
The pictures reveal a number of aspects, including one of four speaker grills and what appears to be a second connector on the left side of the tablet (it’s not sure whether we’re dealing with a Lightning or USB Type-C one).
The camera and microphone hole are also visible in the upper-right part, while the headphone jack is located at the bottom left.
It’s pretty hard to tell from these images what the real scale of the device is, as there’s no object around for comparison.
Also, the shots show us only bits and pieces of the alleged iPad Pro, and it’s impossible to discern whether we’re looking at an empty shell or there are actual hardware components living underneath.
Possible specs of the iPad Pro
Anyway, judging by what we've been hearing so far, the Apple iPad Pro is expected to have an Apple A8X or Apple A9 chipset on board and might even arrive with an optional stylus accessory.
Prior to the “Spring Forward” event, we'd been hearing rumors that Apple would lift the veil off the big iPad alongside the Apple Watch, but as we already know, that didn't turn out to be the case.
We're probably still quite far from seeing Apple unveil the big iPad, as our guess is that the Cupertino tech giant will debut the tablet alongside the next-gen iPhone this fall.
Earlier this month, a report came in revealing that Apple’s new maxi tablet would arrive with an USB 3.0 port and would be outfitted with an optional keyboard and mouse. So who knows, maybe it’s the USB 3.0 port that we’re seeing in the images.
