Apple is going through a period of changes. After being on the front page of every IT magazine and every news site when Steve Jobs announced the migration from IBM's PowerPCs to Intel processors, another announcement comes to stir the Mac users' curiosity.

The
14.1 inch widescreen iBooks will not be produced by Quanta Computers, but by Asustek Computer, or at least that's what Economic Daily News claims. According to the same publication, Asustek was contracted for 500,000 of these models.

Asustek is also in charge of the 12.1 inch models and if we are to believe the rumors, the company will also be entrusted with the production of the 15.4 widescreen models which will ship somewhere in 2006.

It seems that Asustek came with a better offer, considering that in April, sources from Taiwan pointed at Quanta Computers as the producer chosen by Apple for these models.
